Welcome to Maricopa County’s 12% Gaming Grant website. In November of 2002, voters passed Proposition 202 to allow gaming compacts between the State of Arizona and Native American tribes. The Proposition required tribes to share 12% of their revenue for government services, including public safety, mitigation of the impacts of gaming, economic development, education, transportation, and health services (A.R.S. § 5-601.02). Although each tribe has different processes and due dates, all tribes require support from a local government as outlined in tribal gaming compact. For the County, this means you will need to get a resolution of support from the Board of Supervisors prior to submitting your final application. The resolution requires a formal action by the Board. Use this website to submit your organization's request for a resolution.
